At a private event at Herb Albert’s Vibrato Grill on November 4th 2018 held by the Jazz Foundation of America and hosted by the legendary Quincy Jones, Johnny was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the music industry.
Even though Johnny’s catalog is dominated more by pop than jazz, his love for the genre and other people’s love for his 62 years of music was self evident during this wonderful evening. The event also raised funds for the Jazz Foundation, which provides emergency funds, medical services and performance opportunities in the community to jazz and blues musicians in need.
