Johnny’s was interviewed about his 64 year long career & more for Black History Month, which aired on KPIX CBS San Francisco Bay Area and on KCAL9 Los Angeles Friday, February 28th 2020. 

And though not politically outspoken, Mathis did join celebrities who sang, inspiring participants in the 1965 Civil Rights March from Selma to Montgomery.
