Ahead of the release of “Johnny Mathis Sings
The Great New American Songbook” on Sept. 29th 2017, the GRAMMY Museum welcomes
Johnny Mathis, Clive Davis, and very special guest Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds for
an intimate conversation and exclusive listening session to songs on the
forthcoming album.

Co-produced by 11-time GRAMMY winner Kenny “Babyface" and
five-time GRAMMY winner Clive Davis,  the new album Johnny Mathis Sings
The Great New American Songbook features the legendary singer’s personal take
on contemporary hit songs by Pharrell Williams, Adele, Bruno Mars, and others.
  The evening will be hosted by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Scott
Goldman in the Clive Davis Theater. 

To date, Johnny Mathis has had 3 songs inducted into the Grammy
Hall of Fame, achieved 50 Hits on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Chart, and
ranks as the all-time #6 album artist in the history of Billboard’s pop album
charts.  He has received 5 Grammy Nominations, and in 2003 he was given
the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
 He continues to be Columbia Records longest signed recording artist.

City of Los Angeles to Honor Johnny with 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award

To kick off the African American Heritage Month Celebration in Los Angeles Johnny will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Mayor Eric Garretti & Our Authors Study Club on Wednesday, February 1st, 2017 at 11am.
Also being honored are Michelle King (EDUCATION) and Matthew Johnson (GOVERNMENT), and André Birotte Jr (LAW) for their important contributions to the L.A. community.

The ceremony is open to the Public and will take place on the South Lawn of City Hall in Downtown Los Angeles (200 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012).  

So come by if you can Mathis Fans to show your love & support in person on February 1st at 11am  – It’s sure to be a memorable day!
